Thanksgiving

Laith, Lucas and I flew to Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with the Vincents and thoroughly enjoyed the entire visit. Lucas is now quite the seasoned flier and was easy as pie during the travel. He immediately warmed up to Glamma when we arrived by introducing her to his stuffed lamb-y. Lucas loved it that she kept all of Max's childhood toys in storage. We broke out the wooden railway set and the matchbox cars and the monster trucks. That was all Lucas needed to be happy for the next 4 days! :)

The day after we arrived, we were invited to Ameer and Andrea's house for a pizza dinner and to spend time with Grammy who was visiting from WV. She brought Lucas an early Christmas present that our whole family is currently loving! It's an electronic dinosaur that roars back at you when you roar at it! Plus it will respond with roars and walking and music when you pet it or touch it's nose. Thanks Grammy! :)

We had the chance to catch up with some old friends while we were in town too- namely Jill who I've known since I was 6 years old. I'm so happy she lives in NoVa so I can see her every time we come to see the Vincents! We went downtown to check out the Newseum which is AWESOME! I could spend an entire weekend there and still not have my fill. They also have a really delicious cafe where we lunched before heading back home on the metro. I think we talked almost nonstop from 8:30am until 2:30pm- Jill is such an awesome conversationalist and listener!

I also was able to catch up with my highschool friend and college running buddy Wendy and her 4 month old daughter Harper, who is illegally cute, as you will see in the photos. I wish I could have done a proper photo session with the whole family rather than just taking snapshots in the mall but the weather was cold and wet and ewwww. Lucas and I had a great time catching up with them while we snacked, rode the mall choo choo, and visited some stores.

We also had the chance to catch up with Matt and Ambrose Sutter a couple days later. His wife Alexis is 8 months pregnant with Teddy Sutter so we didn't get to see her this time. Ambrose is another baby who needs to carry a permission slip for such off-the-charts cuteness. He's only 18 months old but is as big as Lucas and is already talking a lot. It was so cool to hear him say "Ambrose' shoes" among other things. We hope that Lucas and Ambrose will be friends as we plan on starting a beach vacation tradition with the Sutters this summer!

Once Thanksgiving day rolled around, Lucas was comfortable with all the new people he met (since he probably was too young to remember anyone from his last visit) and did great with a house full of 25 relatives! Unfortunately I didn't get very many photos from this day because there was a lot going on and we spent a lot of time in the kiddo-friendly basement with our nieces and their parents.

I always enjoy Vincent family holidays- the food was amazing and it was so much fun to hear what's been going on with everyone and be a part of such a festive atmosphere. We missed the Yoders this year as Neko is only a month old- but I'm really looking forward to the day we can get all of Lucas' cousins together and witness a mayhem similar to what I enjoyed as a kid visiting the Bradys. Imagine how awesome this could get if Laith had 5 or 6 kids climbing around him instead of just the 3 we see here! :)
