Dream Come True For Lucas

Happy Birthday to Me!

It's always so nice when your birthday falls on a weekend- then you can prolong your special day to 2 whole days! :) Laith spent most of the weekend going on outings with Lucas and giving me lots of free time- it was so fantastic!
Today, we started the morning with breakfast at our favorite bakery and a hike at St. Edwards park with the whole family (Annie too!). Then we tooled around the house until nap time when I left to get a pedicure! After that, Laith and Lucas went to an indoor bouncy castle play gym and while I puttered around the house. Such luxury! To top of the evening, Laith and I are going on a date night to our favorite movie venue: the Alamo Drafthouse where we can order dinner while watching the latest flick. The end to a perfect day!

Zilker Botanical Gardens

Lucas is at a great age to explore gardens- especially those with koi ponds, bridges, little secret pathways and loose rocks to collect! We had a great time spending the whole morning here! Lucas liked pointing out the various gazebos and old settler cabin replicas and telling me which ones were kitty houses, doggie houses and owl houses. :)

I've got some work to do...

The new fix-it boy is here and he's going to hammer everything into place!

Fun Zone!

Before I even fed the coin machine to start the ride, Lucas was in LOVE with this thing. He patted and named each horse, and sat on the back of each one for a few seconds before becoming so overcome with excitement at the prospect of riding a different horse that he hopped off and tried out another one.

Wow, this carousel was so FAST! At first I thought maybe there was a malfunction in the spinning mechanism but Lucas was enjoying it so I didn't worry. In fact, we paid the machine 3 times and spent a grand total of 45 minutes playing on this thing and STILL had difficulty saying bye bye to the horsies.

Here he's either hugging the 'fun zone' because he loves it so much or he's pooped out from all the excitement. :)

Central Market Duck Feeding Frenzy

Okay, well not quite a frenzy, but these are aggressive ducks! Some of them are nearly as tall as Lucas and I didn't want any beak-bites on my baby's face! :) I seriously had to shoo them away a few times when they got a little too greedy and close for my comfort. :) Lucas enjoyed quacking with them and spreading the bready wealth.

Wow, Lucas has been playing independently in the kitchen for a long time now! He sure is having fun with those cars. Wait a minute... it was silent for a few moments. That can only mean one thing. :)

Best Friends

It's so much fun for me to see Lucas and Sufyan interacting and it's so cool to see how they're learning new social skills as they play together and grow up together! Lucas talks about Sufyan every day and gets excited whenever he sees him. They readily share things with eachother (often unprompted) that they ordinarily wouldn't with other children. When Ravyn and I run errands with both boys together, what would have been a chore becomes a playdate/mama hang-out and it's so much more fun. We're so lucky to have the Abboushis as neighbors!

Laith's Haircut

Wow!
